Sustainability Solutions That Deliver Confidence and Results

At U.S. Engineering, we know sustainability is about more than goals on paper. It’s about practical steps that help you comply with evolving energy standards, reduce operating costs, and move toward a cleaner-energy future. Through The Legacy Project—our internal efforts to reduce our own greenhouse gas emissions—we proved our commitment.

Now, through Energy & Sustainability Services, our teams bring that expertise to your projects so you can achieve measurable results that work toward your energy goals.

Our teams can help you achieve compliant, comfortable, resilient, healthy, and affordable buildings. We can guide you through the process or help at any point along the way.

Internal Accountability

Through our own internal efforts we call The Legacy Project, we measure our own emissions and publish progress, giving us firsthand insight into how to track and achieve real results for customers.

Energy Benchmarking & Target Setting

Gain control of your energy performance and operating costs with data-driven insights. Through detailed benchmarking, you can see how your facilities compare to industry standards and identify opportunities for improvement. Setting clear efficiency targets supports measurable progress, sustainability goals, and compliance with local regulations.

Proactive Asset Management

Smarter, data-informed decisions start with proactive asset management. We help you track equipment performance, plan maintenance, and forecast capital needs with greater precision. This approach reduces downtime, optimizes operating costs, and extends the life of critical systems.

Data-Driven Maintenance and Performance

We use advanced monitoring and analytics to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and extend the life of building systems.

Navigating Building Efficiency Regulations

Evolving energy and emissions standards can be complex, but compliance does not have to be. We help you stay ahead of regulations by guiding you through benchmarking, performance targets, and reporting requirements. Our expertise supports compliance, reduces risk, and positions your facilities for long-term efficiency and sustainability.

A Trusted Partner for Long-Term Value

We remain by your side to ensure facilities continue to perform, adapt to new standards, and deliver lasting value.

Project Spotlights

CSU Moby Arena: GeoX System

U.S. Engineering worked with Colorado State University on the campus’ first GeoX system, which serves the heating and cooling needs of the Moby Arena Complex – projects crucial to CSU’s commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040. The GeoX installation is the largest ground-source heating and cooling system in Colorado and one of the largest in the western United States.

National Western Center, Denver, Colorado

The National Western Center in Denver, Colorado, powers seven buildings using a unique energy source – heat generated from raw sewage. U.S. Engineering Construction collaborated with NWC to build a sewer heat recovery system for their Central Utility Plant.

Sustainability Reporting

U.S. Engineering has been doing the work of sustainability for decades by making our customers’ facilities more efficient. In 2022, we created The Legacy Project, our more formalized effort to establish our organization’s emissions baselines, execute on a broad internal sustainability plan that set the stage for advising external customers, and begin reporting on our sustainability goals.

The 2024 Sustainability Report tracks our carbon footprint, analyzes our progress, and highlights our future goals. You can view past U.S. Engineering Sustainability Reports below.
