May 2026 at U.S. Engineering: Leadership, Partnership, and Community Connection

June 1, 2026

May reflected the many ways Team Members continue building relationships across the industry, investing in future talent, and supporting important community initiatives. From celebrating career milestones to participating in education and community events, the month highlighted the impact our people continue to make.

Recognizing 40 Years with Pipefitters Local 208

Rocky Mountain region USE Construction Team Members Bert Hill and Bobby Guttropf were recognized by Pipefitters Local 208 for reaching 40 years of membership.

Bert currently serves as a Safety Coordinator, while Bobby is a General Foreman. Their careers reflect decades of craftsmanship, leadership, and commitment to the industry.

Congratulations, Bert and Bobby, and thank you for the impact you’ve made throughout your careers.

Annual Clay Shoot Brings Team Members Together

USE Construction Team Members in our Midwest region gathered for their annual Clay Shoot Event, which welcomed 75 participants and more than 90 attendees throughout the day.

The event created space for connection outside the workplace while reinforcing relationships and trust that supports collaboration across projects and teams. Throughout the day, participants shared techniques, supported one another, and spent time together.

Thank you to everyone who helped organize, support, and participate in this year’s event.

Supporting Women’s Heart Health Through Go Red for Women

Team Members in our Midwest region attended this year’s American Heart Association Go Red for Women luncheon in Kansas City, where community leaders and organizations gathered to raise awareness around cardiovascular disease and support women’s heart health initiatives. U.S. Engineering also participated as a program sponsor.

The luncheon focused on education, prevention, advocacy, and access to resources while encouraging conversations around long-term wellness and healthcare awareness. Go Red for Women has spent more than two decades working to address disparities in women’s cardiovascular care and improve representation in research, treatment, and funding efforts.

Supporting Future Engineers Through KU Capstone Partnerships

U.S. Engineering Metalworks continued its partnership with the University of Kansas Mechanical Engineering program this year through several student initiatives, including the Senior Capstone Program.

As part of the program, students were challenged to design an adjustable pipe cart that met specific dimensional requirements, load capacities, and usability expectations. Production Manager Dave Golden led USE Engineering Metalworks’ involvement in the project, providing guidance and feedback to students throughout the semester.

The KU Senior Capstone Program helps bridge classroom learning with real-world applications while strengthening relationships with future engineers entering the industry.
