Sprint PCS Data Center

The project was completed in a five-phase approach, including the Sprint E-Solutions Division. The U.S. Engineering team led the effort to integrate all equipment in all computer rooms into one control system, which contained logic to switch to backup control loops for ensured service 24/7, 365-days a year. Communications links with satellite facilities were also integrated into the central facility management system.

MECHANICAL HIGHLIGHTS 

• N+1 redundancy applied to chillers, pumps and computer room A/C units
• approximately 70 computer room air conditioning units
• 4 chillers with a total of 2,500 tons of cooling
• interior and exterior thermal storage tanks and redundant piping
• primary and sub piping loops
