The vivarium housed up to 12,000 cages with the ability to nearly double its capacity. The primary function of the vivarium is to house a core colony. Using modular construction, the animal rooms were factory constructed using multi-trade prefabrication and transported to the site. The project also included a new incubator scale lab for BioMed Valley Discoveries (BVD), a research-and-development organization that develops basic biomedical discoveries into applications to improve human health.
