Lenexa Civic Center

The Lenexa Civic Center is a 200,000-sq-ft, multi-purpose facility located in Lenexa, Kan. The Civic Center includes the Lenexa City Hall, a recreational center for citizens—featuring an indoor pool—and a parking garage that leads to both buildings.

U.S. Engineering participated in the 19-month project, successfully completing new mechanical piping, HVAC piping, fabrication duct work and plumbing piping, including domestic water and sanitary pipe. The company also installed a dehumidification system for the pool. The construction team took a “skid approach,” prefabricating most mechanical piping on a frame, and lowering skids into the buildings by crane, which minimized the time workers spent on the jobsite.
