March, Women’s History Month, highlighted how Team Members across U.S. Engineering companies continue to share knowledge, support one another, and stay connected.

Women In Construction Week
During Women in Construction Week, we highlighted Team Members across U.S. Engineering and shared their perspectives on working in the industry. Isabel Saenz (Project Engineer, USE Service), Aliah Bell (Project Controls Manager, USE Construction), Jennifer Dasso (Journeyman, USE Construction), Mary Ann Tackett (Senior Project Manager, USE Metalworks), and Cyndi Corella (Purchasing Agent, USE Innovations) each shared insights on their roles and experiences. You can read more about our WIC Week interviews and link to social media posts in this article.
Team Members Sophie Mount (Safety Coordinator, USE Construction) and Hannah Thomazin (Risk Manager, USE Holdings) were also recognized by MCAKC (Mechanical Contractors Association of Kansas City) for their contributions to the industry.
Lindsay Williams (Vice President of USE Service – Rocky Mountain) represented USE Service on the TradesWork! Podcast, joining an industry conversation about opportunities for women in the construction industry. The week also included USE Construction serving as a community sponsor for Mortenson’s 2026 WIC Week Industry Event, where Team Members connected with peers and continued important conversations across the industry.

A Day in the Life: Kristin Blundell
We followed Director of Preconstruction Kristin Blundell with USE Construction to get a closer look at her role and how she supports projects from the earliest stages. Her work focuses on developing detailed budgets and bringing teams together early to plan work before construction begins.
Her perspective highlights the value of coordination and preparation in setting projects up for success. Watch the video here.

Six DfMA Challenges and How to Avoid Them
We shared a website article from Katie Cortis, Senior Project Manager with USE Innovations, focused on Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA). The article explains how shifting decisions earlier into design and applying lean principles through fabrication can improve project outcomes.
Katie outlines six common challenges teams face when adopting DfMA and shares practical ways to address them, including early alignment, supply chain coordination, and adapting to new workflows. Read the article here.

CSU Veterinary Health System Project Highlight
We highlighted ongoing work at Colorado State University’s Veterinary Health System, where USE Construction is delivering piping, plumbing, and sheet metal systems. The project supports hospital operations, lab environments, and classroom spaces while the existing facility remains active.
This work requires detailed planning and coordination in a 24/7 environment. Thank you to the Field Team Members and project teams supporting this effort and helping move the project forward. Watch the video here.
March reinforced what continues to define U.S. Engineering: Team Members bringing their full, authentic, best selves to work, sharing knowledge, supporting each other, and approaching their profession with intention.
