January 2026 at U.S. Engineering: Community, Leadership, and Shared Learning

February 5, 2026

January highlighted the ways Team Members from several U.S. Engineering companies engage with each other and their communities beyond day-to-day work. From supporting community organizations and sharing industry expertise to walking our Executive Committee through active projects, teams across the organization stayed engaged and connected.

Midwest Region Chili Cook-Off

Team Members from the Midwest Region gathered for the annual Chili Cook-Off, an event that combined friendly competition with meaningful community impact.

This year’s event supported High Aspirations, a nonprofit focused on mentoring young men in Kansas City, and collected canned food donations for Harvesters Food Network. Thank you to our Team Members and vendors who donated to raffles for delivering financial support for High Aspirations and food donations to help Harvesters carry out their mission!

Colorado HVAC Emissions Standards

Tom Poeling, Director of Energy & Sustainability at U.S. Engineering Service, shared guidance on new Colorado emissions standards that took effect January 1, 2026, impacting the selection and installation of gas-fired HVAC and water heating equipment on commercial projects.

The article outlined how early planning, updated specifications, and coordination with manufacturers can help teams remain compliant while still delivering practical, long-term solutions.

Sharing Expertise at the MEP Innovations Conference

U.S. Engineering leaders also shared insights on a national stage this month. USE Holdings’ Risk Manager Hannah Thomazin, and USE Service’s Vice President of Service – Rocky Mountain Lindsay Williams presented at the MEP Innovations Conference in Austin.

Thomazin’s session focused on recognizing risk earlier in the project lifecycle, and Williams’ session explored how service software is shaping more informed, proactive operations. (Also pictured here: Brandon Wikoff, President of U.S. Engineering Holdings!)

Data Center Project Walkthrough

U.S. Engineering Construction’s Louisiana team welcomed members of the Holdings Executive Committee for a walkthrough of a data center project for a confidential client.

The visit provided an opportunity to discuss project scope, coordination, and execution in a complex environment.

January reinforced what continues to define us: a people-driven culture of Team Members who invest in our communities, share knowledge, and collaborate with intention.
