Donation Celebrates Tim Moormeier’s Retirement and Supports Future Innovators Across Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — In honor of Tim Moormeier’s retirement, and in recognition of the shared commitment he and his wife, Diana Moormeier, have shown to education and community service, U.S. Engineering announces a $100,000 gift to establish the Tim & Diana Moormeier KC STEM Alliance Award. Tim stepped down as president of U.S. Engineering Holdings on September 30.

The award will support the KC STEM Alliance, an independent initiative of the UMKC School of Science and Engineering, that inspires an interest in STEM by providing hands-on STEM learning opportunities to PreK-12 students throughout the Kansas City region.

Tim’s retirement marks the culmination of an era of leadership defined by mentorship, integrity, and a focus on developing future generations. Both Tim and Diana have championed programs that introduce young people to engineering, technology, and advanced manufacturing through experiential learning, FIRST Robotics, and school-based STEM initiatives.

“Tim and Diana have always believed that investing in young people strengthens both our community and our industry,” said Tyler Nottberg, Chairman and CEO of U.S. Engineering Holdings. “This award reflects the values they live every day and ensures their impact continues far into the future.”

The newly established fund will provide ongoing support for KC STEM Alliance programming that helps students develop hands-on skills, build confidence, and explore high-demand career pathways.

“Tim’s leadership and unwavering commitment to STEM education have left a lasting mark on Kansas City,” said Chelsea Barbercheck, Executive Director of KC STEM Alliance. “We are especially grateful that U.S. Engineering chose to honor Tim and Diana with a gift to KC STEM Alliance in their name. This gift ensures Tim’s legacy will endure, and we are thankful that he and Diana will continue to actively shape and support the work ahead.”

“Tim and Diana have always led with care and generosity,” Nottberg said. “We are proud to honor them in a way that will keep supporting the next generation of builders, makers, and leaders.”
