U.S. Engineering Metalworks is preparing to expand its footprint in Lawrence, Kansas. Plans have been submitted to the City of Lawrence for a new 75,000-square-foot production facility across the street from the company’s existing 150,000-square-foot operation in VenturePark.

The news has gained local media attention, highlighting U.S. Engineering’s continued investment in the region. The expansion is expected to add 30 new jobs in its first year, with additional growth anticipated in subsequent years.

The Lawrence team currently includes more than 150 production team members and 30 support staff. At this facility, trade professionals build and assemble complex mechanical systems for commercial projects nationwide.

The project would be located on two high-visibility lots along 23rd Street. Construction is targeted to begin in October 2025, with completion expected by July 2026.

Colorado Expansion Also in the Works

While the process is not far enough along to gain media attention, U.S. Engineering Metalworks is also planning a similar expansion at its Johnstown, Colorado, facility.
