U.S. Engineering Construction’s Ryan Frazier, Director of Virtual Construction, and Nick Baughman, Senior Virtual Construction Development Manager, were featured speakers at Stratus Innovate 2025, a fabrication conference where industry experts and Stratus users share strategies to streamline workflows, optimize implementation, reduce waste, and increase profitability.

Frazier and Baughman presented on “Data Processes and Setup,” emphasizing how thoughtful planning and intentional structure can turn data from a byproduct into a powerful driver of efficiency and insight. Drawing from real project examples, they shared best practices for building clean, scalable workflows that strengthen collaboration across teams.

“The insight we wanted the audience to walk away with was the power that well-structured data as the foundation for decisions can have on your projects,” said Frazier. “When processes are clean, aligned across teams and consistent, productivity, adoption, and scalability can become easier and more impactful.”

The pair also showcased how U.S. Engineering Construction leverages WebLEM’s Work Activity Method (WAM) for productivity tracking in both shop and field environments—a forward-thinking approach that continues to differentiate the company in the construction technology space.

Baughman highlighted the role of structured processes paired with technology:

“Structure the data, align processes, then let APIs do the heavy lifting,” he said. “Stratus ‘Fields’ help us avoid rework and automate repeatable steps, boosting productivity, adoption, and scalability.”

The session drew engagement from attendees, many of whom sought additional insight into how U.S. Engineering operationalizes WAM in Stratus and integrates custom-built tools in Revit to eliminate manual steps. By sharing their expertise at Stratus Innovate 2025, Frazier and Baughman reinforced U.S. Engineering Construction’s leadership in digital construction innovation and its commitment to advancing industry practices through data-driven solutions.
