Nov 13, 2024
We are thrilled to announce that U.S. Engineering Construction’s Rocky Mountain region team has been honored with the Bronze AGC ACE Award in the $6 to $10 million specialty contractor category for our work on the Denver Public Schools Responsive Arts and Science Academy (RASA) – Far Northeast (FNE) project.
The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Colorado recognized our team’s dedication to excellence at the 2024 ACE Industry Awards & Gala, held on November 9, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center. The event’s “Bedazzled Western” theme added a unique flair to the evening, and our team members in attendance embraced the opportunity to don their most sparkling cowboy attire.
This accolade reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality construction services and underscores the collaborative efforts of our talented professionals. We extend our gratitude to Denver Public Schools for entrusting us with this significant project and to the AGC of Colorado for this esteemed recognition.
DPS set a goal of constructing RASA FNE as its first 100% carbon-neutral school. In this groundbreaking project, we eliminated greenhouse gas-emitting natural gas systems and replaced them with electric equipment, enabling DPS to harness cleaner solar energy supplies.
DPS employed a community-responsive approach when developing RASA FNE. The FNE feeder community is one of the fastest-growing areas of Denver and one of the most diverse communities in DPS, with more than 80% Hispanic or Latino households and 41% of residents identifying as “other” races. To quote DPS Board Director Michelle Quattlebaum, “By investing in the unparalleled talent that is often overlooked in our communities of color, [RASA FNE] PK-6 will serve as a tremendous example of the commitment to educational equity of Denver Public Schools.”
