High Aspirations Participants Learn about Construction Careers during AdventHealth Project Tour

U.S. Engineering

On Monday, July 15, the U.S. Engineering Construction project team at AdventHealth Lenexa hosted 13 young men from High Aspirations for a site tour. High Aspirations is a Kansas City-based organization dedicated to mentoring African American males aged 8 to 18, aiming to elevate their aspirations by enhancing the quality of their lives in four areas: spiritual, emotional, social, and academic.

Our relationship with High Aspirations has been ongoing, and after the success of a tour at the U.S. Engineering Metalworks facility last summer, U.S. Engineering was eager to host another onsite experience.

“The work that Henry Wash (founder and CEO of High Aspirations) and the High Aspirations team continue to do has an exceptional impact on the lives of young men and their families,” said Tyler Nottberg, Chairman and CEO of U.S. Engineering Holdings. “We’re proud to be supporting that work.” Tyler and Leigh Nottberg received High Aspiration’s Robert B. Rogers Legacy Award in 2022.

The tour was part of an initiative to expose mentees to the wide range of career paths in the construction industry. The group showed keen interest in everything from architecture to trades work. As part of the experience, the mentees were educated on proper PPE, and U.S. Engineering generously provided boots for all participants.

This tour provided an excellent opportunity to demonstrate our work and the flow from Metalworks to the Advent site, showcasing various multi-trade racks. A big thank you to the Advent team for their daily hard work and their willingness to host and educate the future generation of our workforce.
