Feb 07, 2024
U.S. Engineering proudly announces its role as the mechanical contractor in the groundbreaking Great Library Project, spearheaded by Trimble.
This ambitious documentary series brings together the world’s leading experts to virtually rebuild the ancient Library of Celsus in Turkey, which is now mostly ruins. The series highlights the power of global collaboration and the innovative use of technology in the construction industry. It also represents a leap forward in the field of connected construction, aiming to revolutionize how construction insights and best practices are shared globally.
U.S. Engineering’s participation in “Episode 4: Nothing Left to Chance” highlights our expertise as the mechanical contractor, demonstrating our commitment to pushing the boundaries of construction innovation as we maximize the work that can be done offsite. We are honored to contribute our knowledge and skills to this visionary project.
Jeff Kiblen, Vice President of DfMA for U.S. Engineering Innovations, is motivated by the thought of helping the construction industry take its next big step, and participating in a unique project like The Great Library is something that drives both him and U.S. Engineering.
“The challenge comes with incorporating all the modern amenities we have with the electrical, the mechanical and plumbing—the conditioned spaces,” Kiblen said while being interviewed at a U.S. Engineering Metalworks facility. “And looking at the library, even in its ruinous state, you could recreate prefabrication that’s much like MEP cartridges to be plugged into the structure and serve as the attachment point for the stone. What an awesome project that would be to set that cornerstone of what we can do when we put our minds to it and really think this through.”
The Great Library Project also aims to build a digital repository of construction knowledge and best practices. By participating in this project, U.S. Engineering has not only contributed to a landmark initiative but has also demonstrated its leadership in adopting and implementing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.
We extend our gratitude to Trimble and all project partners for the opportunity to contribute to this innovative project as we continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
