NEWS & INSIGHTS > Rocky Mountain Region > Poudre Valley Hospital NICU
The 24,000-sq-ft neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) expansion in the “E” Building of Poudre Valley Hospital offers additional space for newborn babies in need of intensive medical attention. After the expansion, the NICU’s capacity increased from 19 beds to 32 beds.
The project also included HVAC upgrades in the existing NICU, MEP improvements in the C-section operating room, a remodel of the public corridor and a 10,000-sq-ft renovation of NICU administrative/support space.
Our teams successfully refed Floors 3, 4 and 5 from an existing air handling unit to a newly installed rooftop unit, while keeping the hospital occupied and operational during structural and shaft modifications to all three levels. To minimize disruption, the staff could turn on red lights if noise or vibrations became too intense, so work could be rescheduled if necessary.
