NEWS & INSIGHTS > News > Summer 2022 Internships at U.S. Engineering
Oct 14, 2022
Thanks to all of our 2022 interns for another successful internship program! This summer 16 interns joined our Rocky Mountain and Midwest regional teams. Every year we work on growing and improving our internship program, and this was our largest group yet.
At the end of the summer, when presenting about their internships, many of our interns highlighted how much they were able to work on real projects, how friendly and respectful our teams were and how exciting it was to apply what they have been learning in school. We strive toward providing real work experience that each intern can use in their careers going forward, and in turn we value the perspective each intern brings to our teams.
As part of the internship program, each group of interns completed a service project. This year our Rocky Mountain interns worked with Lifeline Puppy Rescue, and our Midwest interns worked with Newhouse.
The Rocky Mountain group raised more than $5,000 for Lifeline Puppy Rescue, one of the largest donations the rescue has received all year. Interns also donated their time to clean kennels, sweep and reorganize the shop, build shelving units, paint furniture and bathe puppies.
In the Midwest, our interns organized a donation drive for items that Newhouse uses to support survivors of domestic abuse. The interns delivered the donated items and toured the facility to learn more about its on-site school and services the organization provides to individuals and families.

We’re proud to report that both groups made an impact in their community. Thank you to our 2022 summer interns, and we look forward to hosting our next group in 2023!
