NEWS & INSIGHTS > Our Community > How Our Teams Gave Back for the Holidays
Jan 24, 2022
We say that at U.S. Engineering giving back to our communities is more than a priority: it’s our responsibility. This holiday season, we’re proud of our team members for living up to that motto. In the past month, our teams worked together to give 6000-lbs of food as part of our annual food drive and numerous holiday gifts as part of our Adopt-a-Family and Give Back programs. Here’s an overview of how U.S. Engineering team members gave back to round out 2021.
Through Give Back we provide holiday gifts for the children of KVC Behavioral Health Care, who may be experiencing family issues, illnesses, trauma, homelessness, hunger or other hardships. On December 13th, team members at our headquarters in Kansas City packed up all the gifts for this year—for 70 sponsored children.
Our Rocky Mountain region team reached their 6000-lb goal in the 2021 Food Drive benefitting La Puente’s Food Bank Network of San Luis Valley and There With Care.
La Puente’s Food Bank Network of San Luis Valley is connected to 15 food pantries operating across 8,000 miles. They offer healthy food options for families and individuals in need.
There With Care provides essential support to families with a child that is experiencing a critical illness. Aside from food, There With Care also provides transportation, baby essentials, home maintenance, professional services, sibling support and technology services.
Our Rocky Mountain region team also donated gifts for 2 families and 50 individuals as part of our 2021 Adopt-a-Family campaign. Family Tree, who organizes the event, is a non-profit providing life-changing services to help end child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness. After collecting gifts in our Westminster office, our team members packed up and delivered all the gifts to the Family Tree headquarters.
