Both schools will feature an outdoor central learning park, two-story windows throughout the entire building, flexible learning spaces, and student learning pods.

USEC team members provided pricing support for milestone drawing development; maintained the budget through cost-savings proposals during each pricing response; reviewed drawings with the design team and provided feedback; provided document issue constructability and specification reviews; and continually updated the design team on cost impacts and trending based on design challenges.

USEC provided United BIM LOD 350 modeling for the MEP, architectural design for the two schools and installation of the following mechanical components:

• 18 air handling units (AHUs), two 2,500-MBH boilers with snow melt and heating distribution;
• A 10-in condenser water system, primary and secondary pumps; a domestic water system and heating plant with booster pump and water softener;
• 178 heat pumps and duct network, duct distribution system throughout building, culinary and primary kitchens, natural gas systems, and wood and welding extractors for CTE area.

Work in Wellington began five months before work at the Fort Collins site. Lessons learned at Wellington helped crews gain efficiency with installations and as-build effectiveness at the Fort Collins site on Prospect Road, east of Interstate 25.

When classes begin at Wellington Middle-High School – as the school was named in January 2021 – local students can attend high school in Wellington rather than commuting to Fort Collins for the first time in 55 years.
