Career & Technical Education Students Visit Our Metalworks Shop in Colorado

Feb 24, 2020

U.S. Engineering

Earlier this month, the Johnstown, Co., Metalworks team welcomed 28 students and 4 faculty members from the Weld RE-5J School District to tour our manufacturing facility. In partnership with Adolfson & Peterson Construction and Encore Electric, students from the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program witnessed first-hand how their studies might translate into a career in construction.

U.S. Engineering Construction’s Andrew Rolf, Senior Project Manager, and U.S. Engineering Metalworks’ Bret Russell, Production Manager, led a tour of the shop, stopping along the way to demonstrate the capabilities of our state-of-the-art equipment and to discuss prefabrication, safety, our innovative shop process and career opportunities in the industry. Team members from Encore Electric brought their “Escape Trailer,” which features hands-on circulatory learning tools, and gave a presentation on the electrical side of construction.

Thank you to the Weld RE-5J School District students for being our guests, and to the organizers for making this event a great community partnership effort for youth outreach.

U.S. Engineering and Adolfson & Peterson Construction are currently constructing the FutureForward Career and Technology Education Campus at Washington Square. The facility is scheduled to open in the 2020-2021 school year.

See where our innovative thinkers and expert collaborators can take you.
