Our Rocky Mountain Region Helps Feed the Community

Team members in our Rocky Mountain Region have been busy at the start of this holiday season collecting and delivering food to neighbors in need. Over the past few weeks they’ve participated in a food drive benefitting There with Care and the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley, raising $3,974 and 1,789 lbs of food—the equivalent of 5,763 lbs of food—and surpassing their goal by 513 lbs! The teams delivered the food to There with Care on Tuesday, 12/3.

For Thanksgiving, Rocky Mountain teams also sponsored four families through There with Care, delivering prepared meals in the days leading up to the holiday.

And last week, when a blizzard in the region blew the door shut on a company-wide event, our Rocky Mountain team opened a window: they donated all of the food from the cancelled event to Bridge House Community Table Kitchen in Boulder. Bridge House provides a range of programs and services for people who are experiencing homelessness. They feed about 300 to 400 people daily. The donated food included chicken tenders and pulled pork sliders with dipping sauces, fresh-cut fruit, an assortment of chips, chocolate chip cookie bites, enough for 150 people.

Diana Murphy, Proposal Specialist, spoke for all of us: “I can’t imagine a more wonderful way to begin the holidays than knowing that our cancellation will help this organization help people in our area who are experiencing this storm from a much harsher perspective.”

At U.S. Engineering, we see giving back to our communities as more than a priority. It’s our responsibility. Thank you, Rocky Mountain team, for showing integrity and giving back in such an impactful way!
