Nov 21, 2019
U.S. Engineering’s Tom Poeling, Director of Energy Solutions, published “The value of building commissioning: current market status,” in the October 2019 issue of Consulting-Specifying Engineer (CSE). Poeling, who serves as the 2019 President of the Building Commissioning Association (BCxA), partnered with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for this two-year study.
In the article, Poeling discusses market drivers for procuring commissioning services, describes energy savings and payback for commissioning projects and explores commissioning best practices. The article presents key factors that confirm “the value of commissioning for providers, facility owners and building industry stakeholders.”
Poeling also recently presented “Virtual Cx: Myth or the Future” at the BCxA’s annual conference in Chicago alongside Hendrik Van Hemert, McKinstry Co., and Tim Shinnick Jr, Grumman/Butkus Associates. You can view the slideshow from their presentation here.
As an engaged member of the professional commissioning community, Poeling often contributes his research to publications and conferences. Read more of his work on the value of commissioning here.
