Kansas City’s Praxair industrial plant addition was built to provide a more innovative and efficient way of production. The project consisted of a 640-ton air separation plant addition to the existing facility. U.S. Engineering had won the “Outstanding Mechanical Installations Award” in 1968 on the original plant and was proud to again provide the owner with a high-quality product. In order to reduce manpower congestion in the field and to meet the aggressive schedule, U.S. Engineering utilized its local fabrication shop. The assembly of components in a controlled atmosphere provided a high standard of productivity at a time when the Kansas City labor pool was extremely tight.
