Bill Daniels is a man of many titles including husband, father, grandfather, cancer survivor, veteran, and vice president, to name a few, and he can now add “Coin Toss Captain” to the list. Earlier this year, Bill had surgery to eliminate prostate cancer. His surgeon, Dr. William Parker reached out to Bill to ask if he would be willing to do the coin toss at the Veteran’s Day game knowing that as a veteran, and as someone who has battled skin, throat and prostate cancer, there wasn’t anyone more qualified for the job. This Sunday, during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and on Veteran’s Day, Bill will serve as the Coca Cola Coin Toss Captain for the Kansas City Chiefs game.
Bill’s positive attitude and selflessness have never faltered even in the midst of his own battles, which is one of the many reasons we are proud to have him on our team. The University of Kansas Cancer Center wrote an article entitled, “Honoring a Tradition of Service,” highlighting Bill’s service, strength and spirit. The author states this: “As Bill takes the field before the Kansas City Chiefs game this Veterans Day, fans, players, officials and others will pay tribute to his military service and recognize the battle waged in his cancer journey.”
Congratulations, Bill! We will all be cheering you on this Veteran’s Day.
