Mar 25, 2016
The U.S. Engineering Rocky Mountain region hosted a “Fab 5K” walk/run event in the soon-to-be renovated manufacturing facility in Johnstown, CO. With construction scheduled to start soon, employees, family and friends came out on the morning of March 12 to run or walk 10 laps around the interior of the empty building. The 5K event held in the 775-ft-long site was a fun and unique way to launch this exciting project.
Every department contributed to this one-of-a-kind event, from the BIM department mapping out the race course using AutoCAD technology, to the field team hanging banners from the 34-ft high ceiling. Over 115 participants completed 10 laps around the interior of the building to finish the 5K, with many more in attendance cheering them on. Participants were welcomed with healthy snacks and a coffee/smoothie bar, and there was a fun run, two bouncy houses and a climbing wall for the kids. With something for everyone, it was a great opportunity to get active with friends and colleagues and celebrate the kick-off of the new manufacturing facility project.
