We thank everyone who participated in this year’s sponsor a family Thanksgiving dinner. The eighth annual “Caring for Our Community” & Harvesters food drive was spearheaded by Chairperson Jessie Campbell III, Co-Chairperson Louise Vanisi, committee members Karen Lavayen, Desiree Hack and Valerie Kilpatrick.
The meals are provided from cash donations collected in the month long food drive from generous U.S. Engineering employees. Their contributions helped to fund the Thanksgiving dinners prepared by local Price Chopper stores. Each meal costs $69.99 and feeds a family of eight.
The proceeds of from the biscuit and gravy breakfast, taco lunch and silent auction provided 89 meals to deserving families. All monies collected were then matched by Tyler and Leigh Nottberg allowing the committee to provide an additional 89 Thanksgiving Dinners for families in Missouri and Kansas.
U.S. Engineering Midwest Region to date, has provided 591 “Caring for Our Community” Thanksgiving meals for deserving families. In addition, our donations to Harvesters to date, have contributed 40,000 meals to individuals, and families in our community.
