U.S. Engineering

Major Clay Daniels

Before Clay Daniels was the vice president of operations for the Midwest Service & Solutions division, he played football at West Point and was a Major in the Army and Special Forces.

Clay Daniels has been vice president of operations for our Midwest Service & Solutions division for less than a year, but it didn’t take long for people to recognize his leadership skills. In a recent article for examiner.com, Eric Jacobson labels Daniels as “one of the area’s most inspiring leaders.”

In the Q&A article, Daniels talks about how his leadership abilities evolved as he went from playing football at West Point to serving as a Major in the Army and Special Forces – and eventually managing projects for U.S. Engineering.

Here is an excerpt from the article where Daniels discusses how leadership skills in the military transfer to business:

All leadership skills translate. Loyalty, Integrity, Duty, Respect, Communication, Selflessness, Decisiveness, Courage, Initiative, Accountability, etc… Obviously, the stakes are a little higher when leading soldiers in combat. However, the leadership skills necessary to motivate and inspire teams to accomplish their goals and objectives in the business world are relatively the same as they are in the Army.”
