University of Colorado Hospital Inpatient Tower and Critical Care Wing Expansion

Aurora, CO

U.S. Engineering was an integral part of the multi-trade prefabrication on the University of Colorado Hospital project. Led by general contractor Haselden Construction, this was the first project in the United States to utilize this level of prefabrication. In doing so, the project realized greater time and cost savings, as well as reduced site safety risks.

The addition provides 144 beds, a new emergency department, surgery floor, imaging department, auditorium and kitchen. U.S. Engineering took the lead on this design-assist project to ensure design was on track and to guarantee that the needs of UCH were met.  By implementing multi-trade prefabrication, U.S. Engineering was able to complete rough-in of the mechanical systems two months ahead of the aggressive schedule.
