Sierra Providence East Side Hospital
El Paso, Texas

Sierra Providence East Side is a completely new, full-service, 280,000-square-foot Tenet Health Care facility in El Paso. The central plant includes a 3,400-ton chiller plant with waterside economizer, 35,000-mbh boiler plant, and 6,000-mbh domestic hot water plant. The central HVAC plant provides heating and chilled water to (14) air- handling units and multiple terminal coils and boxes.

U.S. Engineering was awarded the project during the design phase through a competitive fee proposal and GMP estimate process. The final estimated cost based on the 100 percent construction documents was within 1 percent of the original conceptual estimate. Engineering team members provided extensive coordination, scope evaluation and value engineering in order to reach a final design that met the owner's budget. U.S. Engineering will have an onsite staff of project management staff, project engineers, superintendents and administrative support throughout the 18-month construction schedule.
