DATA CENTERS

Comcast, Phase I
Centennial, CO

U.S. Engineering was awarded this Tier II data center from design development drawings. The project involves the remodel and conversion of an existing warehouse into a 30,000-square-foot data center upon completion. Phase 1 is for 9,000 square feet, with Phase 2 to follow bringing another 15 megawatts of Xcel Energy power to the site.

The all-new mechanical system features a 750-ton prefabricated module, designed and constructed by U.S. Engineering in our Loveland shop, to house the chiller, chilled and condenser pumps, expansion tank, heat exchanger, chemical treatment and controls. Once completed, the skid will be shipped to the jobsite for final piping and electrical connections.

The data floor load is cooled by custom air-handling units plus Liebert XD (extreme density) system components. At completion, the building will be served by (4) 750-ton water-cooled chillers.
